Maintenance & Operation

Battery-Powered Maintenance and Operation

Your Lobster electric Tennis Ball Machine should work trouble free provided you follow basic guidelines:

  1. Battery Maintenance: Always charge your machine after each use until the LED on your control panel turns solid green or the fast charger LED turns from amber to green. This will lengthen the life of the battery and shorten the amount of time it takes to charge the battery. Never charge the battery for more than 36 hours.
  2. Storage: Never store a battery machine in a closed car trunk, where temperatures can reach upwards of 180 degrees.
  3. Inclement Weather: Never store your machine outside. Rain and moisture will shorten the life of your ball machine.
  4. Cleaning: Turn the power off. The inside of the ball machine can then be vacuumed to remove the tennis ball fuzz.

Electric-Powered Maintenance and Operation

Your Lobster electric Tennis Ball Machine should work trouble free provided you follow four basic guidelines:

  1. The detent, the last six inches the tube encased in metal with a rubber bladder inside it, must be replaced on average every three to four years, regardless of the amount of use.
  2. Your extension cord must be 16 gauge or heavier, and no longer than 100 feet. Please do not connect two cords together or use any other major appliances on the same electrical line. This will affect the performance of the ball machine
  3. Replace worn out balls. Old balls consist of flat or dead balls and balls that have been used to the point where there is no longer any fuzz left. When using these, you may experience problems as the ball tries to pass through the machine. It is also advisable to use standard playing balls that are used in match play and are the same size.
  4. Never store a ball machine without blocking up the end of the firing arm and the hole underneath the black disk with steel wool or a sock. This keeps any unwanted insects and animals from making a home in it.
